Spectroscopic Study of a Sliding Spark with an Electron Beam

A high intensity pulse light source from a high density plasma in a sliding spark with an electron beam is useful in the vacuum ultraviolet (vuv) and soft X-ray regions. Its spectra in the 100–500 A region are shown and line profiles are compared with numerical results calculated from the local thermodynamic equilibrium (L.T.E.) plasma model.
