2001

The authors discuss the Industrial Training Act (1964) which transformed VET into a tripartite system; the publication of the green paper ‘The learning age’ (indexed at TD/IRD 88.177) in 1998 which includes new ideas in lifelong learning; the New Deal program launched in 1997 to provide training for the unemployed; and other acts such as the Further and Higher Education Act (1992) and the Learning and Skills Act (2000).
