Isolation and properties of .BETA.-1,3-glucanase from digestive gland of scallop

The β-1,3-glucanase was isolated from digestive gland of scallop by precipitation with 80% saturation of ( NH4) 2SO4,ion-exchange on DE52 cellulose and gel filtration on Sephadex G-150.SDS-PAGE showed that β-1, 3-glucanase has a molecular mass of 157kDa.The enzyme had optimal activity at pH7.0 and 30℃.The enzyme had apparent Km values of 13mg /mL by Lineweaver-Burk plot.
