The Application of Brush Seals for LOW Pressure(LP) Cylinder of 600MW Supercritical Steam Turbine

This paper describe the related features and differences between traditional labyrinth seals and brush steam seal and the situation of energy saving retrofit by using brush steam seal for low pressure cylinder based on the structural features of 600MW supercritical turbine manufactured by Dongfang Turbine Co.,Ltd.,The results of retrofit is also introduced in this paper that the operation of the unit is more safely and stably and the improvement of the efficiency is significant.This experience can be used as a good reference for the same type of steam turbine.
