Strategic and practice of establishing of faculty development center in Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Teachers' professionalism development is an issue of strategic importance in current education reform. The fostering of excellent teachers and teaching teams has direct impacts on the quality of education. With the deepening of cultivation model reform and education reform, for medical colleges in which early-to-middle aged teachers hold great majority, implementing "teacher-led, student-centered" teaching philosophy relies on the establishment and development of teachers' professional training model. The article takes Center of Faculty development (CFD) of Shanghai TCM University as an example, discusses the importance, problems as well as tactics of teachers' professional development in nowadays.
