Study on the Distribution Rule of Total Flavonoids in Elaeagnus angustifolia L.

Flavonoids were extracted with 95% ethanol from bark,wood,leaf,fruit and seed of Elaeagnus angustifolia L(Elaegnaceae),and the total flavonoid content of each part was determined by UV spectrophotometry method.The distribution rule of flavonoids in Elaeagnus angustifolia was thus investigated.The results showed that total flavonoid contens of Elaeagnus angustifolia bark,wood,fruit,leaf and seed were around 37.0 mg/g,14.3 mg/g,1.6 mg/g,18.8 mg/g and 18.6 mg/g,respectively.This study indicated that flavonoid contents in different parts of Elaeagnus angustifolia varied considerably,with the maximum of bark 37 mg/g,whereas fruit,the minimum flavonoid content,only 1.6 mg/g.
