NANCYUN: A Laboratory Tool for Calculation of Binary Systems

The coherency between any new experimental thermodynamic determination and the results already known maybe evaluated with the computer program NANCYUN in the case of binary systems.The various necessary data andthe mathematical formalism used to represent the phases are presented. In addition to that thermodynamic description of the system, the experimental observations made by Darken on many liquid phases are translated into conditions between the adjustable coefficients used to represent a phase. These supplementary conditions are detailed and their interest is shown. As an example of the possibilities of NANCYUN, the results obtained in the study of the MgGa system are presented.
