Lead ion-sensitive membrane for ISFETs

Abstract An ISFET based on new photocured membrane containing an ionophore showing selectivity to lead ions was realized. Data on sensitivity and selectivity of the chemical sensor were reported. The linearity range was from 10 −6 to 10 −3 M Pb(NO 3 ) 2 . The good performance of the sensor, tested in continuous flow, is ascribed to the chemical anchoring of the polymeric membrane to the FET gate area by a layer of a reactive polyorganosilane. This approach enables the ISFET to work for at least two months without a substantial loss of sensitivity.
