Human Factors Engineering Assessment of the TeamMATE System for Dismounted Embedded Training and Mission Rehearsal

Abstract : The U.S. Army Research Laboratory's Human Research and Engineering Directorate performed a human factors engineering assessment on the TeamMATE (Team Mission Assistant-Tactical/Exercise) system, which was developed by the U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command's Simulation and Training Technology Center in response to the need of a low cost solution to embedded training for the individual Soldier. A heuristic/expert evaluation for usability was performed on the user interface of TeamMATE, and this report provides a detailed description of recommendations for improving the usability of the TeamMATE system interface.
