Study on Growth and Development Characteristics, Botanical Characteristics and Flowering Period Control of Four Flower Bulbs

[Objective]The research aimed to study the growth and development characteristics,botanical characteristics and flowering period control of four flower bulbs of Tulipa gesneriana,Hyacinthus orientalis,Narcissus pseudonarcissus and Hippeastrum vittatum.[Method]The four flowerbulbs were all cultured with different methods,and their characteristics of growth and development were observed at the same time.Their flowering periods were regulated with GA or peeling treatment.[Result]The results showed that the periods of growth and development were quite different among these four flower bulbs,but they all grew very well in Kunming area,all with the rate of flowering over 98%.The flowering periods of potted T.gesneriana,H.orientalis,N.pseudonarcissus were effectively delayed when storaged at 2 ℃,while the flowering period of T.gesneriana could be advanced with the treatment of GA or peeling.[Conclusion]This research could provide important theoretical references for the wide applications of T.gesneriana,H.orientalis,N.pseudonarcissus and H.vittatum.
