Introduzione all'analisi delle sostanze grasse utilizzate nel settore cosmetico

The present paper is a presentation of the principal analyses that can be useful for the characterisation of the oils utilised in the cosmetic field. Beside the more traditional chemical-physical determinations, meaningful are the methods providing the application of instrumental technologies able to carry out a deeper evaluation of the composition of an oil: we are speaking of the determination of the fatty acid composition, of the trans fatty acids, the sterol composition, all of them standardised by Commissione Tecnica, and which will be published as tentative methods with the purpose to protect the cosmetic industry against the use of raw materials not in conformity with declared characteristics.
