Quantitative analysis method for electricity-saving benefit of area substations

This paper proposes a quantitative analysis method for electricity-saving benefit of area substations to address the problem of calculating electricity-saving benefit of numerous and various substations. Initially, the electricity-saving index system which includes the basic property index sub system and the electrical property index sub system is designed, which can divide area substations into several categories according to their electricity-saving characteristics. Further, based on electricity using rules and operating characteristics of air-conditioning and lighting distributed in various typical substations, air-conditioning and lighting systems are divided into three and five classes, which greatly simplify the calculation of electricity-saving benefit. Then, taking into account the remanent value of equipment, electricity-saving rebuilding investment cost, and payback period etc., an electricity-saving benefit analysis method is designed. Finally, this paper takes seventeen 220kV substations as examples which shows that the method proposed is reasonable and effective.
