Avaliação da satisfação e função sexual em idosas e fatores associados

2020
It is common to consider that older people are synonymous with “asexuals” and can not and should not feel like having sex (SIQUEIRA, 2007) (AIZENBERG, 2015). This negative thinking is related to the model of sexuality establishedas “normal” and is centeredon the worship of the body, youth, beauty, the consideration of sex as a source of pleasure restricted to coitusand for procreation purposes (NONATO, 2017). We must remember that old age is not synonymous with motor disability or absence of social and sexual experiences (VIEIRA et al, 2018). Even with age limitations, it is possible to assume that older people may have sexual affair sor relationships. The researchaimed to evaluate the satisfaction and sexual function of elderly women and associated factors. Thisisanobservationaldescriptivequantitativecross-sectionalstudy. We evaluated 110 elderly women registered in language courses by the Open University for the Third Age (UNATI) insertedatthe Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE), in the city of Recife. Sexual functionand satisfaction, physical activity level, body image, and sociodemographic and clinical conditions were analyzed. When comparing the variables “With who resides”, “Marital Status”, “Children” and “Ethylism”, the distribution test was significant, thus proving the association of the sevariables with sexual functionandsatisfaction in the elderly. In other variables such as: “physical activity”, “educationallevel”, “sourceo fresources”, “hormonal deficiency”, “medication”, “drugs”, “heartdisease”, “high blood pressure”, “diabetes” and “bodyimage ”no relationship was obtained between sexuality. It is interesting to conduct new research to prove the veracity of these relationships.
