Quantitative Analysis of Micro Remaining Oil in Water Flooding Based on CT and Image Analysis Software

2021
There are still a lot of residual oil in the formation after ASP flooding. It is important to clarify the type and quantity of remaining oil for further enhanced oil recovery. Various types of micro residual oil in cores with different permeability after water flooding and weak alkali ASP flooding are quantitatively analyzed by using computer tomography (CT) and image analysis software. The results show that the main types of residual oil after water flooding are cluster, column and blind end; weak alkali ASP flooding has different degree of displacement effect on all kinds of residual oil after water flooding, and the displacement effect of cluster residual oil is the best; the saturation of blind end residual oil increases slightly after ASP flooding. The remaining oil form after weak alkali ASP flooding is consistent with that after water flooding, and the proportion of cluster remaining oil is the highest. It is necessary to further develop this kind of residual oil to enhance oil recovery.
