Modeling and simulation of active front seering system based on multi-body dynamics

2012
It first analyzes a simplified model of the steering system based on the structure of the active front steering (AFS)system, and defines the topology of double planetary gear mechanism.Secondly, the dynamics modeling and kinematic simulation of AFS are realized based on ADAMS,and then a multi-body dynamics model of active front steering vehicle is built.Thirdly, the control principle of ideal variable steering ratio is discussed and the relationship of steering ratio with the change of vehicle velocity and steering angle of steering wheel is obtained. Finally, the handing stabilities of traditional steering vehicle and active front steering are compared. The simulation results show that the active front steering system can improve the vehicle stability. And the multi-body dynamics model built provides some references for the deep research of active front steering system controlling.
