14 Visage-paysage. Problème de peinture

2015
Face Landscape refers to functions or processes, so that one would always talk about 'visageification' as much as 'paysagification' to denote make-to-face modes and landscape. Christianity holds on all these points a fundamental place, starting with the visageification process, if not the invention of the face itself. The face is the Christ. Veronica's, and Saint's faces and other shrouds give undoubtedly the most explicit argument about Western particularity. But in reality all Christian images function as living areas. Visagefication should be understood as an abstract process, beyond any recognition of a face, which does not mean that its dynamics are not singular. Paysagification is a corollary process, and describes any double visageification. In Aretino's Three books of the humanity of Jesus Christ, the face of Christ is a true middle component with the body of his mother. The original text of the chapter is in French. Keywords: Christian images; Face Landscape; paysagification; visagefication
