Very low temperature heat capacity for small, one-dimensional metal particles

1981
Abstract The heat capacity for small, one-dimensional, identical metal particles with lattice and electron contributions is examined at very low temperatures. It is found that the low-temperature electronic contribution to the heat capacity is “frozen out” such that the lattice contribution plays the dominant role. Additionally, for both contributions, one has the specific heat decaying exponentially.
