Drive circuit having the transmission circuit for transmitting a signal from a primary side (Pri) with a first ground potential (gnd_pri) to at least a secondary side (s) with respective second ground potential (gnd_hs) with a transformer (80) with capacitive coupling between the primary (Pri) and the secondary side (s), wherein the transformer (80) has two branches, a ON-transmission branch (82) and an OFF-transmission branch (83) which in turn have a respective first and a second sub-branch, wherein the capacitive coupling between primary and secondary side in each sub-branch by high-voltage capacitors (C1, C3) is carried out, which respectively form a series circuit with an associated secondary-side capacitor (C2, C4), wherein a signal (IN) at the entrance directly to the ON-transmission branch (82) and via a first inverter (INV1) is present at the OFF-transmission branch (83), and wherein within the respective transmission branch (82, 83) the signal first directly on a and applied via a second inverter to a second part branch.
