Intelligent Metal Forming Simulator AFDEX-1. Solution Accuracy and Intelligent Mesh Generation

In this article, basic concepts and requirements of intelligent bulk metal-forming(BMF) simulation are defined. An intelligent BMF simulator, called AFDEX (Adviser for metal Forming processor Forging process) Design EXpert) developed to meet the requirements of intelligent BMF simulation, is then introduced with emphasis on its solution accuracy and delicateness with various applied examples. In the companion article [1], AFDEX is introduced with emphasis on its user-friendliness and applicability. Various kinds of application examples are given to verify solution accuracy and sensitivity, user-friendliness and program applicability in this and companion articles.
