THE NEW ASYMMETRICAL WINDSCREEN AS 15. INCREASED SAFETY COMBINED WITH WEIGHT ADVANTAGES

The paper describes the new asymmetrical windscreen AS 15 manufactured by Flachglas AG. This screen consists of an outer layer 2,6 mm thick with an inner ply of 1,5 mm thickness. A further development as 12 has inner ply only 1,2 mm thick which serves to reduce minor accidental injuries. In addition a smaller space is required for fitting. Extra safety can be achieved by the use of plies made from synthetic materials. /TRRL/
