High-precision Calculation of Geographical Current Density of DC Grounding Electrodes

2019
The corrosion of underground buried metal facilities is affected by the geographical current density of DC grounding electrodes. If there is too much leakage current, it will impede the normal operation of the catholic protection device of the pipeline systems. In this paper, we theoretically analyze the geographical current density distribution of ground electrode in horizontal wide-area multi-layer earth, and derive the current density calculation formula. Then, a linear filtering method for high-frequency electromagnetic field calculation (KONG-201) is introduced, which is used to solve the geographical current density distribution of the grounding electrode. The simulation results show that the KONG-201 method is consistent with the high-order complex mirror method (HOCIM), faster speed calculation, and the higher precision. The method solves the problem of assessing the distribution of geographical current density of the DC grounding electrode, and it has a great application prospect.
