Implementation of Biological Samples Monitoring Used UHF RFID Technology: A Concept

2022
The focus of the presented manuscript is on the design of the concept of UHF RFID technology aimed at tracking biological samples. The purpose of the article is to point out the possibility of changing the current state when barcodes are pasted to biological samples. They are then accompanied by a paper request for tests and thus sent together to the laboratory. The article is intended to serve as a proposed concept using digitization and high-frequency radio-frequency identification. The first part of the manuscript points to the already established eHealth system and the still unresolved issue of eLab (electronic laboratory examination). This is following by an analysis of the individual elements of the concept divided into three areas and the RFID system, software, and biological samples. The second chapter is focusing on the gradual design of components needed for the implementation of the plan. It described the individual steps from the design of specific hardware through the progressive design of the software structure. Based on the given proposal, several conclusions were drawn, which we can assume, but their confirmation is only at the theoretical level. The presented concept is legislatively demanding, as with the GDPR, it is a matter of working with personal data on human health. As the main benefit, we can assume the design of a comprehensive concept using contactless technology with mass reading at a distance of several meters, which is a benefit for the current epidemiological period.
