The article presents an account of the formation of stars. It is noted that astrophysicists have not, as of February 2010, been able to fully account for all aspects of star creation. It is known that stars form from the collapse of vast gaseous clouds into protostars. Questions remain regarding the reasons why such clouds exist, and why some of them collapse.
