FECAS DE herbívoros INTRODUCIDOS EN CHILE SEMIÁRIDO COMO HABITAT PARA EL DESARROLLO DE INSECTOS

The present paper describes the biological cycle of two insects inhabitant inside the goat-dung in semiarid Chile. The insects belong to a microlepidopteran and a Ptinidae (Coleoptera) species. The rol of the silk-tube, elaborate by the microlepidopteran larva externally to the goat-dung, and the possible effects of larvae on decomposition and on soil fertilization are discussed.
