An evaluation method of multi-source control capacity on transient angle stability

2016
The large-scale intermittent wind has been incorporated into current grid. in order to achieve transient angle stability quantitative analysis and evaluation, this paper proposes a fast assessment method of wind power generators and coal-fire power generators in transient angle stability control. Using the EEAC (extended equal area criterion) angle stability quantification theory, the defense vectors and deriving transient energy equation with stability control vector map are defined. Binding Catastrophe Theory amends the amount of transient power angle catastrophe of Taylor expansion, and then the transient angle stability control catastrophe mapping mode is established. Multi-source stability control vector field concept is defined and the assessment indicator is proposed. Putting intermittent power generation unit node into New England 10-machine 39-bus system as the target system verification, validation results show that the method could be adopted for effective guiding the transient angle stability control.
