SKO1 deficiency extends chronological lifespan in Saccharomyces cerevisiae

ABSTRACTSko1 plays a key role in the control of gene expression by osmotic and oxidative stress in yeast. We demonstrate that the decrease in chronological lifespan (CLS) of hog1Δ cells was suppressed by SKO1 deletion. sko1Δ single mutant cells were shown to have a longer CLS, thus implicating Sko1 in the regulation of their CLS.
