Self-mode-locking pulse suppression and stability improvement of an YB-doped fiber laser by cascaded fiber amplifiers

2015
An Yb-doped fiber laser is investigated for selfmode- locking (ML) problem. Using cascaded fiber amplifiers, the self-ML pulses are suppressed and the laser stability is improved. The experimental results show the self-ML pulse suppression of 10 times in amplitude, overall reduction of 15dB in spectral elements, and the stability improvement of 4 times shown on the output spectra.
