Comparison of agility and leg explosive power between handball and basketball players

The purpose of this study was to determine the comparison of agility and leg explosive power between handball and basketball players from pondicherry university. The study was conducted on 30 male players out of which 15 were handball and 15 were basketball players. Their age ranged from 23 to 27 years. The nature and importance of this study was explained to the subjects and they were expressed their willingness to participate as subjects for this study. Agility was measured by Agility Cone or Compass Drill and Leg Explosive power was measured by Standing Broad Jump. The data collected from the group on the selected variables were statistically examined to find out whether there was any significant difference or not between the handball ball players and basketball players. ‘t’ ratio was employed. The level of significance was fixed at 0.05 level of confidence. The result of the study reveals that basketball players were betters then the handball players on agility. But there was no significant difference between handball and basketball players on the explosive power.
