Power System Critical Cutset Identification based on Rolling Double Level Hierarchical Clustering

2019
Abstract When a power system is subjected to a large disturbance, effective identification of critical cutset and generator groupings in the electric network contribute to the effective analysis of power system dynamic behavior, which also can be used for determination of optimal locations of FACTS devices, initiation of preventive control actions, decision of emergency control actions and adaptive choice of out-of-step relaying. In this paper, a new power system critical cutset identification named rolling double level hierarchical clustering method is proposed. Case studies using the New England 10-generator test systems are given to illustrate the validity of the proposed method.
