A laser having a temperature compensation driving circuit and the laser driving method. The laser drive circuit having temperature compensation for driving a laser element, comprising: a temperature compensation circuit generating a second current based on a first current and non-current associated a temperature; and a modulation current generating circuit, based on the second current generating a modulation current, and to adjust the light output power of the laser element according to the modulation current; wherein the first current is proportional to absolute temperature; wherein the second current relative to the rate of change of the absolute temperature is greater than the first current with respect to the rate of change of the absolute temperature.
