Music education nowadays is suffering a global decline. Curricula prioritize certain subjects to the detriment of others considered less important or secondary, being music one of them. Within the area concerns, many publications have focused on “music education advocacy” in schools. This article analyses diverse trends in “music education advocacy” and the role of cognitive neurosciences as evidence.
