Vicoside A, a 28-nortriterpenoid glucoside from Vicoa indica☆

Abstract Vicoside A, a new 28-nortriterpenoid glucoside has been isolated from the alcohol extract of the aerial parts of Vicoa indica and its structure was elucidated as 2β,3β,16β,23-tetrahydroxy-17β-formyloxy-28-norolean-12-ene 3- O -β- d -glucopyransoside by spectral data and chemical conversions.
