UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) catalyze the glucuronidation of numerous endogenous and exogenous compounds to facilitate their excretion from the body. Because rats are commonly used in nonclinical studies, information regarding UGT species differences between rats and humans would be helpful for understanding human pharmacokinetics.
