Coalescence of polymeric sessile drops on an partially wettable substrate

Temporal dependence of height of the growing liquid bridge, for coalescing sessile polymeric fluid drops on a partially wettable susbtrate, is observed to follow a $t^{1/2}$ power-law behavior; in contrast, a $t^{2/3}$ growth has been reported for Newtonian fluids. The observed dynamics can be explained on the basis of a modified thin film equation under lubrication approximation using linear Phan-Thien- Tanner constitutive equation.
