Sustainable diets for a food-secure future

Abstract The types of foods that people eat, and the way those foods are produced, will have an enormous impact on the way future generations farm and eat due to the variation in resources that are required to produce different types of food. While achieving global food security now and in the future is complex and will require changes to predominant social, economic, and political structures, the adoption of sustainable diets can play a large role in improving food availability and nutrient provision, food access and utilization, and the resiliency of food systems.
