COMFIT: A NOVEL INDOOR COMFORT INFERENCE TOOL

2021
A comfortable environment is one of the main requirement for building spaces. This paper proposes an overall indoor comfort inference tool (comfIT) for both visual and thermal indoor comfort levels. The indoor conditions are monitored and the respective space comfort is estimated through a novel explicit methodology that focuses on elimination of subjective factors from the estimation procedure. Both thermal and visual comfort levels are inferred based on a novel approach based on fusion of algorithms increasing the accuracy. Finally, the proposed comfort inference tool (comfIT) has been tested in both residential and office environments, while the experimental results shows that it is a powerful tool for building management and awareness.
