A note on the temperature range of applicability of the third law of thermodynamics

The low temperature of applicability of the third law of thermodynamics is shown, for the Debye insulator, to be less than the incremental-energy level spacings divided by Boltzmann’s constant—a temperature of applicability lower than previously assumed.
