Comparative Evaluation of Various Swarm Intelligence Techniques Designed for Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks

2018
Wireless Sensor Networks (WSN) work through conditions like energy, calculation and storing. Distributed Topology Control (DTC) that is used for Large-Scale Dense networks (LSD) are taken care by cluster heads and mobile agents. The protocols which are designed for WSNs are adjustable to changes in neighborhood nodes as well as intelligent system devices. Topology in WSN is grouped as three stages: (a) building (b) governing and (c) preservation of topology. Here maintaining the topology using the concept of swarm intelligence (SI) intended for failure in links as well as controlling the congestion is employed. A detailed survey has been conducted on various SI techniques. SI-based representations like Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) as well as Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) are used in topology maintenance which outperforms other existing swarm intelligence techniques in WSNs.
