Line curvature algorithm in laser ektacytometry of red blood cells

The problem of measuring red blood cell deformability by laser diffractometry in a shear flow (ektacytometry) is considered. Using numerical modeling we show that in particular case of a bimodal ensemble of erythrocytes the laser ektacytometry enables one to estimate subpopulation of weakly deformable erythrocytes in a blood sample as well as the deformability of both components of the bimodal ensemble.
