Pump-to-signal cross-polarization scattering in coherent dual-polarized systems with forward Raman amplification

We demonstrate that pump-to-signal cross-polarization scattering represents an impairment that limits the amount of forward Raman pumping used in polarization-multiplexed coherent systems. We also develop and validate experimentally an analytical noise model for the impairment.
