Porous 12-tungstophosphoric alkaline salts for isobutane/butene alkylation influence of protonic density and surface polarity of the HPA: Effects of the supercritical phase

2000
The influence of the protonic density and of the polarity of potassium salts of H 3 PW 12 O 40 has been evaluated for i-C 4 /C 4 = alkylation in dynamic conditions. An increase of the deactivation rate was observed with increasing the protonic density or lowering the catalyst surface polarity. In supercritical isobutane conditions, in a batch reactor, more saturated C 8 hydrocarbons and less olefins were obtained, when increasing supercritical fluid density. This was attributed to an enhanced hydride transfer ability of the catalyst.
