Influences of Impingement Distance and Impingement Angles on Wall-Wetted Fuel Film

In order to study the influences of impingement distance and impingement angles on wall-wetted fuel film after fuel spray impinging on the inlet port wall in port fuel injected SI engines,two-dimensional distribution of adhered fuel film thickness on the wall at different impingement distances and impingement angles was measured by using laser induced fluorescence(LIF) technique.The experimental results show that,as impingement angle decreases,the thicker film region moves downstream more far away,and meanwhile,the area of the thicker part increases while the maximum fuel film thickness decreases.As impingement distance increases,the wall-wetted fuel film thickness decreases.
