River Sediment Carrying Capacity Method and Application in Basin Water Resources Utilization

Although the present calculation methods of sediment transport water demand in basin water resource utilization are implemented simply,it is difficult to reflect the impact of different water yield process on sediment transport capacity and avoid the evolvement of relationship between water and sediment.Taking Chaoyang hydrologic station in Daling River for an example,according to the sediment dynamics theory and accumulated enormous water-sediment data in hydrologic stations,the function of sediment carrying capacity is established by taking river discharge as independent variable.Thus,it reflects the total sediment transport capacity in process of water yield long series.The influence of human activities especially the reservoir on the relationship between water and sediment is also analyzed.
