Mechanism research of 3D printing based on virtual running

In this paper, a simulation system with printhead's distortion model is developed for 3D printing based on 3D printing robot. The simulation system based on DirectX SDK is modular designed which is consist of pre-process module, virtual running module, simulation platform module and user interface module. Virtual running is taken on the simulation platform using the 3D printing data which was pre-processed by the simulation system. According to the contrast between simulation and the real results, printhead's distortion model is verified and improved. Finally, an improved 3D printing strategy is proposed by simulation system and verified in real 3D printing.
