Unusual pillar-layer framework of a heterometallic dysprosium(III)–silver(I) coordination polymer with (3,4,5)-connected topology

2013
Abstract The self-assembly of pyridinecarboxylate ligand (H 2 L) with mixed metal ions under hydrothermal conditions afforded a new heterometallic coordination polymer, [DyAg(L) 2 (H 2 O)] n ·2n(H 2 O) ( 1 H 2 L = 5-(pyridine-4-ylmethoxy)-isophthalic acid). Single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveals that 1 features an unusual three-dimensional (3D) pillar-layer framework with an unprecedented (3,4,5)-connected topology. Interestingly, each individual structure is interpenetrated by another identical one.
