The present invention provides a link training optimization method and device. The method comprises: obtaining the number of the max data channels supported by a receiving terminal, performing the link connection training of the number of the max data channels, and when the link connection is not successful, employing the next order of magnitude of the number of the data channels until the test passes. After test signals of all the orders of magnitudes of the number of the data channels are detected, if the link connection is still not successful, the test is finished. Therefore, different numbers of data channels are employed according to the gradient for link connection training so as to solve the problem that the test is failed and stopped caused by the mismatching transmission performance of the receiving terminal and the connection cable between a sending terminal and a receiving terminal and ensure the number of the data channels between the receiving terminal and the sending terminal of passing the test, and therefore, the data transmission efficiency between the receiving terminal and the sending terminal is improved after the test passes.
