One-pot synthesis of (E)-3-benzylideneflavanones from 2-hydroxyacetophenones and aromatic aldehydes

Abstract An efficient and practical PPA/H2SO4 promoted synthesis of (E)-3-benzylideneflavanones from 2-hydroxyacetophenones and aromatic aldehydes was developed. Various (E)-3-benzylideneflavanones were produced in good to excellent yields.
