Psychopathy and drug-related crime and violence

Abstract This chapter considers the relationship between psychopathy and drug-related violence with special attention to asymmetry in drug-related crime and overlap with psychopathic features. We review research on the nature of drug abuse and examine how aggression and violence stemming from this use may be enhanced by specific psychopathic features. The possible roles of age and gender within this relationship are also investigated. Finally, we offer suggestions for future research avenues and implications for intervention.
