KAJIAN USAHA PENGGEMUKAN SAPI BALI DI KABUPATEN MAROS PROVINSI SULAWESI SELATAN (Study of Bali Cattle Fattening in Kabupaten Maros, South Sulawesi Province)

Bali cattle is a commodity in the farm fields of South Sulawesi province. Although as a commodity, Bali cattle has many weaknesses that the relatively slow growth. Bali cattle feedlot business is conducted on dry land is characterized by the availability of limited fodder.Technological innovations in Bali cattle production in dry land makes it possible to further enhance the increase calf weights that will ultimately increase the net income received by farmers. Assessment was conducted in February – April 2009 on Pattiro Deceng Farmers Group, Pattiro Deceng Village, Camba District, Maros Regency. In the application of technological innovation is certainly in line with the increase in cost. Therefore, deemed necessary to determine the net income received by farmers after the application of these technological innovations. The basic method used in this research is survey method, the determination of the purposive sample and data analysis with partial analysis of one-time farming for the production process (3 months) using the approach to the calculation formula: Pd = TR-TC, followed by R/C ratio. Assessment results indicate that cattle production technology capable of producing the increase of body weight (ADG) an average of 0.6 kg/cattle/day. So in a period of 3 months of Bali cattle production farms and utilization of livestock waste as biogas, providing a net income of the farmer group is Rp. 1,069,854 per cattle with R/C of 1,2 which indicated that the business is profitable to do.
