New nonlinear control method applied for power converters, based on D-Transform

2018
The major goal of this article is to present a very simple, intuitive and powerful tool: the D-transform between converters. This new methodology aims to find a control equation of any predefined control law from one converter to another power converter. The idea behind is to take maximum advantage of the robustness offered by the originator nonlinear control law. Although there is the possibility of more than one conversion, some candidates show excellent performance in terms of settling time, transient overshoot, rejection of disturbance and steady- state regulation. The stability proof is given individually for each generated equation. The validation of the new D-controllers is done through Hardware In the Loop (HIL) simulations. A very low overshoot under input and load perturbations is obtained for the buck-boost example.
